翻译是连接语言与文化的纽带。忠实地翻译文化负载词变得越来越重要,只有忠实于原文才能够使英文读者准确地了解中国文化,促进跨文化交际。文化负载词承载了一国独特的文化特点,在目的语中很难找到现成的与其相对应的词汇,因而这些词汇对文化交际和汉英翻译带来了一定的障碍。因此,探讨这些文化负载词及其翻译有着重要的现实意义。
Translation is the link between language and culture. To faithfully translate culturally loaded words becomes more and more important. Only being faithful to the original texts will enable English readers to understand Chinese culture accurately and promote intercultural communication. Culturally loaded words bear the unique cultural characteristics of a country, and it is hard to find ready-made corresponding words in the target language. Therefore, these words have brought some obstacles to cultural communication and Chinese-English translation. Therefore, to explore these culturally loaded words and their translation has important practical significance.
