自1949年I.M.Heilbron等人报导了4,4-二氯-3-丁烯-2-酮CH_3COCH=CCl_2的合成后,对β,β-二氯不饱和酮的研究不断得到深入,特别是近十年来,在这课题上为C、A、摘录的46篇研究性文章中,有34篇是最近十年的。从内容上看,用它来合成杂环化合物的研究占很大部分,在上述46篇文章中,属于这方面的有22篇。β,β-二氯不饱和酮的氯很活泼,容易和含O、S、N等原子的亲核试剂反应,生成=C(?)(X、Y为O、S、N等),所以是合成杂环化合物的良好中间体。到目前为止,由β,β-二氯不饱酮已合成了下列十种杂环环系:
