第一条为纪念我国著名矿床地质学家谢家荣、孟宪民先生在生前为发展我国矿床地质事业所作出的杰出贡献和为推动我国矿床地质工作的发展,鼓励中青年矿床地质工作者创造性地工作,为国民经济建设服务,提出具有实际应用价值,在学术上达到国内外先进水平的矿床地质科研成果,根据第二届矿床地质专业委员会第一次会议的决定,设立《谢家荣孟宪民奖》(以下简称本奖)。第二条本奖是一种荣誉奖,由矿床地质专业委员会颁发荣誉证书,授予在矿床地质研究方面作出了卓越贡献,取得优异成绩的中青年矿床地质工作者个人或集体(只限于五人以内的科研成果主要完成者)。授奖者名单和获奖事项将在本会《矿床地质》和有关杂志上公布。
