Works Comment “Ms. Shafei’s Diary” is the author’s masterpiece. It is a diary genre novel, which depicts the lives of several young people in the city of Beijing in the years following the May 4th Movement. The author uses bold bold brush strokes to exquisitely and vividly delineate the heroic Sha Fei’s stubborn personality and rebel spirit while clearly showing the tragedy results brought about by the resistance of the individualists who escaped from society.
