中国共产党的优秀党员,著名冶金和材料学家、教育家,中国科学院院士,北京科技大学教授肖纪美先生,因病医治无效,于2014年4月23日上午6时在北京逝世,享年94岁。肖纪美先生,生于1920年12月,湖南省凤凰县人。1943年毕业于唐山交通大学,1948年2月赴美国留学,1950年8月获美国密苏里大学冶金学博士学位。1957年7月冲破美国政府的重重阻挠,回祖国参加社会主义建设。1957年10月到北京钢铁学院
Mr. Xiao Jimei, an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China, a famous metallurgist and materials scientist, educator and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Science and a professor of Beijing University of Science and Technology, died at Beijing’s capital at 94 a., April 23, 2014 at 6 a. Xiao Jimei was born in December 1920 in Fenghuang County, Hunan Province. He graduated from Tangshan Jiaotong University in 1943, went to the United States to study in February 1948, and received a doctorate in metallurgy from the University of Missouri in August 1950. In July 1957, he broke through the obstruction of the U.S. government and returned to participate in the socialist construction. 1957 October to Beijing Iron and Steel Institute
