同志们: 今天是山东省力学学会的成立大会。让我代表中国力学学会向大会祝贺!希望山东省的力学工作能在这个大会的影响之下,迅速担负起我们国家、党和人民对我们的要求和给我们的任务。今天我想利用这个机会,向大家谈一谈我们力学工作者的任务及方向。首先回顾一下,我们力学工作者在解放后卅多年来所经过的历程。刚解放时,全国搞力学工作的人很少。那时全国只有七个高等院校没有工学院,没有什么科研机构。有一批教师,大概不到四十人。1955年院系调整以后,由于教学计划里有很多各种各样的力学课程,所以力学工作队伍有所发展,同年成立了力学研究所,召开了全国第一次力学代表大会。据那时统计,全国
