1月15日,武平县“五套”班子领导和500多名干部群众参加王良烈士纪念碑落成揭幕仪式。各机关、学校在纪念碑前敬献花圈、花卉及花篮,以寄托武平人民的哀思。王良,四川省綦江县人,1927年9月,参加秋收起义后,跟随毛泽东等老一辈无产阶级革命家创建井岗山革命根据地,开辟赣南、闽西苏区。在第一次反“围剿”时,他任红四军第十师师长。1932年3月,任红四军军长。4月,他率部配合兄弟部队占领漳州。6月13日,王良奉命挥师赣南,途经中央苏区的武平县大禾村天灯下观察敌堡时,遭团匪袭击,壮烈牺牲,年仅27岁。
