Luis Díaz Chavez (1919-), a Honduran writer, returned to El Salvador with the whole family as a result of the persecution by the authoritarian government of Caryas Adorn as early as he was in school; In 1949, Chavis took part in the militant anti-authoritarian armed uprising in the winter mountains of Malan, exiled to Guatemala in the aftermath of the defeat and later went on to study at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. The “unfortunate fishing man” is a memory of the Chavis’s revolutionary experience and a vivid testimony of the anti-dictatorship fight in Honduras. The author sympathetically introduced the tragic life of the Honduran black peasants, praised the anti-rival struggle of Honduran people with a glorious tradition and condemned the dictatorship of the United States monopoly capitalists - the dictatorship of the dictatorship, the reactionary army and the church. Chavis made a brilliant use of Honduras’s rich folk language and portrayed the reader a picture of rural terroir in Central America. “Unlucky fisherman” won the short story award of the second literary award in Cuba “American House ”. Cuban National Press published his short story collection in 1961.
