According to the national standard GB264-77 regulations molybdenum oil-soluble organic molybdenum salt content determination is complexed with EDTA. As the oil-soluble organic molybdenum salt additives commonly used in lubricating oils contain zinc that causes positive interference, the result is high. In order to obtain accurate data, the authors discussed the formation of lead molybdate precipitate with molybdenum and lead acetate in HAc-NH_4Ac solution (PH5 ~ 7), and obtained the accurate data of molybdenum content in oil-soluble organic molybdenum salt without interference.
