Throughout the history of five thousand years of Chinese cultural development, there are only two true cultural revolutions: one is “elimination of one hundred schools of Confucianism, one respect of Confucianism” in the Han Dynasty, and one of Confucianism From then on, culture became the mainstream of Chinese culture. On the other, it was the “May 4th Movement” that completely overturned Confucianism. The “May 4th” Movement fundamentally shaken the foundation of Confucianism and gradually established the leading position of Marxism in China in the field of ideology and culture. Although the two cultural revolutions are different, they share a common internal law from the perspective of deep-seated structural analysis, that is, the adaptability of culture to social development that does not depend on human will.
