始建于1958年的顺德市桂洲医院是部颁二级乙等医院,1988年由桂洲镇政府一次性能拨款1000万元,港澳同胞捐助500万元,镇属企事业单位赞助及医院自身投入共1680万元易地建成新医院。于1990年5月投入使用,命名为桂洲冯尧敬纪念医院,1997年冯尧敬慈善基金会再次捐赠港币400万元、桂洲镇政府拨出专款1000万元、医院自筹200多万元进行冯尧敬夫人医疗大楼建设,竣工启用后,医院的建筑面积达3万平方米,现开设病床400张,设外科、骨科、妇产科、内科(设三个区),儿科、眼耳鼻喉科、口腔科、康复科、急诊科以及门诊部、功能辅助科、等医疗专科18科,属下有3个分院,5个门诊站,附设人工牙种植中心、华枝睾吸虫病防治研究室、心脑血管疾病、老年病
