在创作《昭君出塞》的剧本之前,李玉刚并没有过采风的经验。他站在舞台上异彩流光,裙裾飞扬的时候,活脱脱就是风华绝代、国色天香的古美人,可是“昭君出塞”四个字,不是只有美丽就足够的。他放下写来写去也不尽人意的剧本,从北京出发到了湖北宜昌——昭君的故里,在长江之畔感受那山光水色带来的自由与浪漫的气息。再一步步,踏着那个传奇女子一生的年华,缓缓北上。那趟旅行,遥遥三千里路。他装了一瓶长江水,藏在了冰箱里。像藏了一缕芳魂,透澈宁静又孕育着未知。那瓶水伴着他重新拿起了纸笔。
