Two Neolithic sites, Taojiahu and Xiaocheng in the south of Dahongshan, are an important part of the settlement in Han dynasty and an important support for the process of civilization in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. The regional system survey centered on two city sites in winter 2013 aims at clarifying the spatial and temporal distribution of the two regional sites and their interconnections. According to the survey, the two sites coincided with the Qujialing culture to the Shijiahe cultural period, representing the first peak of settlement development in the region. The two sites at this stage are in the center of two relatively independent sites , All showed a trend of gradual expansion from the inside to the outside. The diachronic differences between the two are mainly manifested in the fact that the Xiacheng area experienced a much longer process of development during the historical period, in which the Eastern Zhou Dynasty and the Han Dynasty represented the second round of the settlement development in the region.
