近年来,知识经济在世界悄然兴起,引起了人们的极大关注。江泽民总书记对发展知识经济也曾作过多次论述。1998年5月4日江总书记在纪念“五四”重要讲话中曾指出“当今时代,科学技术突飞猛进,知识经济已见端倪,国际竞争日趋激烈”。他号召:“全党和全社会都要高度重视知识创新、人才开发对经济发展和社会进步的重大作用,使科教兴国真正成为全民族的广泛共识和实际行动。”1998年6月1日,总书记在会见中科院和工程院部分院士时又强调:“知识经济的基本特征,就是知识不断创新,高新技术迅速产业化。”而要加快知识创新,关键在人才。必须有一批又一批的优秀年轻人才脱颖而出。总书记的论述,使我们对党中央国务院提出的“科教兴国”的战略决策有了更深刻的认识。
In recent years, the knowledge economy has quietly risen in the world, arousing great concern of people. General Secretary Jiang Zemin also made numerous discussions on the development of a knowledge economy. The knowledge economy has seen clues and the international competition has become increasingly fierce.” He called for: “All the party and the whole society should attach great importance to the important role of knowledge innovation and talent development in economic development and social progress so that rejuvenating the country through science and education can truly become the consensus and practical action of the entire nation.” On June 1, 1998, When meeting with some academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the general secretary also stressed: “The basic characteristics of a knowledge economy are the constant innovation of knowledge and the rapid industrialization of high and new technologies.” The key to accelerating knowledge innovation lies in talent. There must be batch after batch of outstanding young talent to stand out. The discussion made by the general secretary has enabled us to have a deeper understanding of the strategic decision of “rejuvenating our country through science and education” put forward by the CPC Central Committee and State Council.
