为提高新疆高校英语零起点少数民族学生的英语学习,笔者2008年5月通过“新疆高校英语零起点少数民族生英语学习问卷”调查了新疆四所高校英语零起点少数民族大学生270人,问卷的数据表明大多数的少数民族学生很喜欢英语学习,但在学习过程中他们有着很多的问题和困难,在教材上,学生们和老师们也有很多不满之处,通过这些,笔者认为,要提高少数民族学生的英语学习,编写具有民族特色的新教材是必要的,同时,教师们应该从4个方面着手去提高民族生的英语教学。
In order to improve the English learning of minority students in English at universities in Xinjiang, in May 2008, the author investigated 270 minority students with no starting point in English in four colleges and universities in Xinjiang through “Xinjiang College English Zero Starting Minority Students’ English Learning Questionnaire” The questionnaire data show that most minority students like English very much, but they have a lot of problems and difficulties in the learning process. Students and teachers also have many dissatisfactions in the teaching materials. Through these, I believe that It is necessary to improve the English learning of ethnic minority students and to write new textbooks with national characteristics. At the same time, teachers should start from four aspects to improve the English teaching of ethnic students.
