A diesel engine with a speed of about 1000r / min and a single-cylinder power of 150kW is suitable for a variety of purposes, including railway traction, marine propulsion, marine auxiliaries and auxiliary power plants. These different uses of diesel turbocharger requirements vary. For example, radial turbochargers are rugged, simple and low cost. Burning heavy oil diesel engine is best to use axial turbocharger, because of its significant washing effect. However, in this small turbocharger, axial turbines are generally less efficient than radial turbines, whereas small, heavy-duty diesel turbochargers require as much efficiency as possible. Therefore, improving the performance of a small axial turbocharger has also become a major research topic recently. It is particularly important to improve the part load performance of the turbine (and thus also of the turbocharger).
