The carbon isotope compositions of all-wood mixed samples of modern plants (all C3 plants) in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (northeastern part of China) are analyzed (their δ13C values are generally -235 ‰ ~ -308 ‰ with an average of -26 6 ‰), discusses the various environmental factors that affect their changes. Studies have shown that rainfall and atmospheric pressure are the most important environmental factors that affect the δ13C value of plants in this area. On the one hand, the δ13C values of plants increased (decreased) when the rainfall increased and the relative humidity of the air increased. On the other hand, the atmospheric pressure decreased and the δ13C values of plants increased (positively). It can be seen that plants contain a great deal of information about the changes in the natural environment.
