陕西作家贾平凹出身农家,从小知道钱财来之不易,到后来成名成家,依然保留着早先朴实的生活习惯;他穿衣不挑剔,吃饭不讲究,不贪吃鸡、鸭、鱼、肉,就爱吃家乡的粗食。他为《西安晚报》写《陕西小吃小识录》,涉及22种小吃,多半为平民之食,如凉皮子、大刀面、油条、甑糕、粉鱼和石子饼等。他在序言中说:“我出身乡下,后玩墨弄笔入文道,自然不可能出入豪华席面,品尝高级膳食饮馔,……”他所喜爱的是各地的小吃。
