This article describes a method for growing large single crystals of gallium-doped yttrium iron garnets. This method uses an almost isothermal growth of a seed crystal in a melt with a temperature gradient. In the presence of a polycrystalline nutrient, the accelerating crucible rotates so that the melt mixes well to achieve a very low change in gallium content in the crystal.
