学校创办于1978年,是独立设置的中职学校,2014年被省教育厅确认为达标中职学校,隶属于江西省地质矿产勘查开发局,国家级重点中等职业学校。学校由南昌、进贤两个校区组成,占地面积107亩,拥有各类建筑面积7.7万平方米,其中实训教学建筑面积2.6万平方米(不含南昌校区在建综合大楼建筑面积2.5万平方米)。共有各类教学仪器、培训设备总计2617.2万元。学校现有在校学生3377人。现有教职工171人,专任教师117人,其中高级实习指导教师、技师、高级技师、双师型教师34人,
