OBJECTIVE: To understand the lung function of coke oven workers and explore the influence of coke oven fugitives on pulmonary function of coke oven workers, and to provide information for the evaluation and testing of occupational health. Methods: 192 coke oven workers in the coking plant were selected as the exposure group and 120 non-contact coke oven workers as the control group. Coke oven workers and control groups were surveyed, pulmonary function tests, the results of statistical analysis. Results: The positive rate of cough and the positive rate of sputum in the exposed group were higher than those in the control group, MVV, FVC, FEV1, The maximal expiratory midway expiratory flow (MMEF), maximum expiratory flow (PEFR), expiratory flow rate (FEF25) of 25% vital capacity and the percentage of the predicted value of each lung function were lower than the control group (P <0.05) . Conclusion: Coke oven workers have lower lung function than non-coke oven workers.
