为满足更多技术条件的要求,新的和更有效的铁路机车车辆的发展,需要把富有革新的设计方法和对机车车辆及部件特性的许多不同方面的综合了解结合起来。后者要求执行包括理论和实验研究的不同方面的基础和应用研究的计划,使研究结果可以在设计方法中体现出来。本文概述了英国铁路在机车车辆悬挂、轮轨相互作用以及制动方面所完成的研究发展的计划范围和若干成就。
To meet the requirements of more technical conditions, the development of new and more efficient railway rolling stock vehicles requires a combination of innovative design methods and a comprehensive understanding of many different aspects of rolling stock and component characteristics. The latter requires the implementation of plans that include different aspects of theoretical and experimental research and applied research so that research findings can be reflected in the design methodology. This article outlines the planned scope and achievements of the UK railways in research and development completed with locomotive vehicle suspension, wheel-rail interaction and braking.
