The combination of nuclear proteins and DNA can affect the structure of chromatin and the replication and transcription of DNA. This article describes recent advances in the study of nuclear proteins in tumor cells, and focuses on the changes in nuclear proteins during the development of liver cancer. Proteins in the nucleus may be involved in the metabolism of carcinogens. It may be a target substance that may act as a carcinogen. It may serve as an indicator of tumor diagnosis, may be a regulator of cancer phenotype, and may also be a site of action of antitumor drugs.
