According to the statistics of the German PAN Department of Carbon Fibers, the total production of carbon fiber in the world’s PAN Department was 6,310 tons in 1989, an increase of 15% compared with 1988. In 1989, the production of PAN-based carbon fiber increased by 15.1% in the United States; in Europe, it increased by 13.3%; in Japan, by 5.7%; and in South Korea and Taiwan by 23.6% each.
