English has a phrase food for thought, which means “thinking things”; Chinese has“ people to eat for the sky ”. It has different cultures, but all emphasize the importance of “food”. When the world was in a decade of poverty reduction, food prices have risen sharply in the past three years. The shortage of food supplies has triggered conflicts in many countries and the international community’s efforts to eradicate poverty are being destroyed. “The new food crisis is forming” has become the consensus of the international community. In this regard, “Economist” magazine is based on the “new face of hunger” and analyzes a long text of about 2,500 words. Limited to the layout, this publication has been translated, the context is clear and the language is concise. The article talks about China’s impact on the rise in world food prices. Fortunately, Premier Wen Jiabao has stressed that China’s grain reserves are abundant and the Chinese people are fully capable of supporting themselves. Otherwise, the “China threat theory” triggered by this will be even more rampant.
