外语学习动机研究是二语习得研究的重要组成部分。研究者已经充分认识到动机是一个复杂的、多层次的概念,并由此开始对动机的静态、动态进行综合性研究。本文采用对学习者传记定性研究方法,以中国30位著名外语教育专家学习传记为样本,调查分析他们各自的学习经历和内心体验,从中总结他们在外语学习过程中所体现出的动机变化轨迹和因素。研究表明,学习者动机变化是一种常态,导致变化的因素很多。外语教师和学校必须对外语学习者的个人因素、社会环境、家庭环境和自身特点有比较清楚的认识,才能了解学习者动机变化的特点,对学习者施加正面影响。
Foreign language learning motivation is an important part of second language acquisition research. Researchers have fully realized that motivation is a complex and multi-level concept, and from there, it begins to conduct a comprehensive study on the static and dynamic motivation. In this paper, a qualitative study of learner biographical methods is adopted. Taking the learning biographies of 30 famous foreign language education experts in China as samples, the author analyzes their own learning experiences and inner experiences, and summarizes their trajectories of motivation changes in foreign language learning factor. Research shows that learner change in motivation is a norm and causes many changes. Foreign language teachers and schools must have a clear understanding of the individual factors, social environment, family environment and their own characteristics of foreign language learners to understand the characteristics of learner’s motivation and exert a positive influence on learners.
