保偏光纤(PMF)在相干光通信、光纤激光器、光纤传感、光纤陀螺中应用广泛,温度稳定性是其在实际应用中的一个十分关键的问题。理论和实验分析了保偏光纤上写入光栅的特性,特别是全面分析了其温度特性。结果表明,随温度升高,偏振反射峰的间隔缩小。利用保偏光纤光栅的这一特性研究了可以高精度、方便地获得保偏光纤温度特性的新方法。测试了保偏光纤-40~130℃的温度特性,实验结果与理论分析的结果一致。
PMF is widely used in coherent optical communication, fiber laser, fiber sensing and fiber optic gyroscope. Temperature stability is a key issue in practical applications. The characteristics of writing grating on PM fiber are analyzed theoretically and experimentally, especially its temperature characteristics are analyzed comprehensively. The results show that with the increase of temperature, the interval of polarized reflection peak shrinks. By using this property of polarization maintaining fiber grating, a new method for obtaining temperature characteristics of polarization maintaining fiber with high precision and convenience is studied. The temperature characteristics of polarization-maintaining fiber from -40 ℃ to 130 ℃ were tested. The experimental results are consistent with the theoretical analysis.
