As a national key construction project and a major project in Shanghai, the Shanghai South Railway Station project is jointly funded by the Ministry of Railways and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, with a total investment of over 5 billion yuan. The first-class modern train station of this facility consists of three parts: traffic, station, and plaza. The unique circular main station is equivalent to the size of five Shanghai Stadiums, and the circular roof is composed of more than 50,000 square meters of sun board. The whole body adopts a glass curtain wall, making the South Station exceptionally bright. South Railway Station is the first dome-shaped steel structure railway station in China. It embodies the “people-oriented” principle of “big traffic, large space, and large greening” in its design.
