Japan’s expansion of the automobile industry Implementation strategy transfer: In the past 10 years, the Japanese automobile industry has gradually shifted production lines abroad, first in North America, and then in Europe and Southeast Asia. Japan’s largest car company, Toyota, has 48% of its cars produced overseas. Toyota hopes to produce 60% overseas this year and 65% in 1998. However, the development of the Japanese auto industry overseas has not been smooth. Last year, the sales volume of Japanese cars in the United States fell by 4.2%; in Europe, it has declined for two consecutive years; sales in the European market have generally fallen by about 1.6%; in France, Japanese cars sold only 74,800 vehicles, accounting for only France. 3.88% of the automotive market; only sales in Asia are better.
