白鲫原产于日本琵琶湖,称源五郎鲫,是一种大型鲫鱼.1976年由中山大学生物系和广东省水产研究所首先引进我国. 白鲫具有与鲢鳙鱼相似的食性,但肉质鲜美同鲫鱼.在同样的生态条件下,可用来代替鲢鳙鱼的饲养,并能获得较高的经济效益.根据我们初步试验,用一冬令的白鲫鱼种与草鳊鱼混养,亩产白鲫达211斤,超过对照池鲢鳙鱼产量14斤以上,成活率为91%,平均每尾重3.3两,同时,每尾3两以上白鲫
