I am an ordinary college teacher and an ordinary tech worker in science and technology. I went to the countryside to work as a peasant for 6 years, and worked as a barefoot doctor. I know this piece of land that nurtures me to grow and knows what people in this land are thinking and what they need. When I was a postdoc in West Germany, Professor Spiess, director of the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, insisted that I stay there and was willing to give me a solution to the permanent residency and an annual salary of 120,000 marks
