汉唐典籍如《说文》《初学记》等征引《逸论语》五则,自王应麟、朱彝尊以来,皆以其为《齐论语》之《问玉》篇,“问王”为“问玉”之误,已成定论。因其内容、体制与二十篇不同,为张禹所删。《齐论》自班固之后未见典籍称引;现有文献皆无其进入东汉以后传承情况之记录;郑玄校定《张侯论》,参考《古文论语》,并未参考《齐论》,学术史上“考之《齐》《古》”之说有误。考虑到著录《齐论》的《汉书·艺文志》实出于刘歆《七略》,而许慎引《齐论·问玉》时已称之为《逸论语》,可以判断《齐论》的亡佚时间当在刘歆之后、许慎之前。许慎编纂《说文》,采用《逸论语》,并未全部注明出处,这有助于我们对《说文》编纂与内容来源的认识。
