Since Medicare has provided Nucleus® 22 conductive cochlear implants for postlingual severe sensorineural hearing loss, the number of elderly patients receiving such treatment has been increasing. The authors used a questionnaire containing 26 items to examine 101 patients 65 years of age and older who were implanted with Nucleus® 22 conductive cochlear implants.
