In recent years, academics have begun to talk about academic corruption. One of the manifestations of academic corruption is pride of being opportunistic, refusing to make any real effort, vainly attempting to deceive others, or not being ashamed to plagiarize the achievements of others, or to slander others. In the field of art research, the true experts who know how to learn are more committed to the theoretical innovation, the more they attach importance to basic work. I remember when Mr. Wang Chaowen led us to write a multi-volume “History of Chinese Art,” he repeatedly warned everyone to attach importance to information work. A solid system of information work is a prerequisite for “putting truth to facts” and a guarantee that makes the argument void and down-to-earth. It is the most basic, the most solid and the most difficult basic research.
