万女巧治乌潭水在福建惠安惠女水库工地上战斗的有一万多名民工,其中妇女占85％。在这里,她们不但表现了惠安妇女爱劳动的光荣传统,在劳动中苦干实干;而且在工具改革运动中,她们也表现了无穷的智慧,成为多快好省的治水女英雄。众姊妹献计惠女水库是在1958年大跃进中决定修建的。7月初水库开工时,整个工地没有一辆木轮车子或其他较先进的工具,在这样的条件下,要在短短的一两年内用一万多人完成这个蓄水达一亿公方、灌溉二十余万亩的大型水库,无疑是十分困难的。但是,英雄的惠安妇女既有魄力修建这个水库,她们也就有魄力去克服困难,把水库又快又好地建成。
There were more than 10,000 migrant workers who fought in Wumei Water on the construction site of Huiyin Reservoir in Hui’an, Fujian Province, of whom 85% were women. Here, they not only demonstrated the glorious tradition of Huian women’s love and labor, but also worked hard in the labor; and in the tool reform movement, they also displayed inexhaustible wisdom and became heroines in the province. The sister-in-law of the Chihhui Girl Reservoir was decided during the Great Leap Forward in 1958. At the beginning of the reservoir construction in early July, there was no wooden wheel car or other advanced tools in the entire construction site. Under such conditions, in a short period of one or two years, more than 10,000 people would complete the impoundment of 100 million metric tons of water. It is undoubtedly very difficult to irrigate over 200,000 mu of large reservoirs. However, the heroes of Hui’an women have not only built this reservoir, they also have the courage to overcome the difficulties and build the reservoir quickly and well.
