我们在《外语艺术教育研究》2006年第2期(总14期)“功能语言学与应用语言学”(专号)的第71-91页刊登了Robin P.Fawcett(福塞特)这篇论文的第1-4节,并附有中文内容评述。本期刊登的是论文的第5-6节以及参考文献。该文的中文内容评述指出,Fawcett的这篇论文的目的是建构英语“种类意义”(typicity)的语法;论文所要研究的是下面三个例子中的画线部分:(1)(The system needs)a few different sorts of documents.(2)(You need to determine)the appropriate type of insulin the person should use.(3)(Thisis)oneof the first of the new varieties of GM wheat.论文要探索的三个问题是:(1)怎样对上述表示“种类意义”的结构进行功能句法分析?(2)这些表示“种类意义”的结构体现了什么语义特征?(3)在形式层上还有哪些结构可以体现“种类意义”?这篇论文的理论根据和分析框架、术语是Fawcett等人所创立的“加的夫语法”(the Cardiff Grammar)。论文的第一节交代了研究的范围、研究的问题、研究方法和步骤、论文的结构。论文的第二节介绍了关于语言本质方面的假定和概念,作者对“加的夫语法”与“悉尼语法”(the Sydney Grammar)的异同进行了勾画;他接着介绍系统功能语法是怎样运作的,最后对论文所要研究的结构做了交代。第三节是关于“种类意义”的文献综述。第四节是论文主体部分之一,主要讨论英语名词词组中“挑选”(selection)的概念和句法分析,并涉及到限定词的确定问题。
We published Robin P. Fawcett (Fitch) on pages 71-91 of “Studies in Foreign Language Arts Education” No. 2 of 2006 (14 issues in total), “Functional Linguistics and Applied Linguistics” Section 1-4 of this paper is accompanied by a review of Chinese content. This issue features sections 5-6 of the paper and references. The article’s Chinese commentary states that the purpose of this paper by Fawcett is to construct the grammar of English “typicity.” The paper examines the line drawing in the following three examples: (1) (The (2) (You need to determine) the appropriate type of insulin the person should use. (3) (Thisis) oneof the first of the new varieties of GM wheat. 论文 要 探索 的The three questions are: (1) How do functional syntactic analyzes of the above structures that represent “species meanings”? (2) What are the semantic features of these structures that represent “species meanings”? (3) What are the other structures that can reflect the “type meaning”? The theoretical basis and analytical framework of this paper, the term is “Cardiff Grammar” by Fawcett et al. The first section of the thesis explains the scope of the research, the research questions, research methods and steps, and the structure of the thesis. The second section of the dissertation introduces assumptions and concepts about the nature of language. The author outlines the similarities and differences between the “Cardiff” and the “Sydney Grammar.” He then introduces the concepts of system functional grammar How it works, and finally the structure of the thesis to be done account. The third quarter is a literature review on the meaning of “species.” The fourth section is one of the main parts of the dissertation. It mainly discusses the concept and syntactic analysis of “selection” in English noun phrases and involves the definition of qualifiers.
