罗州,是粤西地区(也可以说是粤桂区)古边代的一个地方政区名。它在历史上存在的时间较长,所辖的地域也较广,是历史上一个有名的政区。但是,罗州初为县,后升为州,各朝代的治所不同,所辖的范围也各异,因而带来了它的复杂性。我根据文献资料和手头上的考古资料,进行初步考释如下。(一)罗州县政区,始建于公元五世纪初(《化州志》说是南朝宋文帝元嘉三年,即公元426年),属高凉郡。最早纪载罗州的,是《宋书》。该书州郡志·高凉太守条,说高凉郡 Luozhou, is a western Guangdong area (also can be said that the Guiyang District) ancient border of a local political names.
