1937年“八一三”淞沪会战前后,胡风与冯雪峰的关系濒于破裂。胡风认为冯有意阻止他参加有组织的救亡工作,于是萌生“独立地做一点事情”的强烈愿望。胡风随即计划返汉与友人合办刊物及仿效《呐喊》周刊而创办《七月》周刊,这些都可视为他脱离冯雪峰领导后的独立的文化实践。从某种意义上说,此期胡风“独立”意识的觉醒,是导致其后与某些党的文化领导者持续冲突的前声。 1937 “Eight one three” before and after the Battle of Shanghai, Hu Feng and Feng Xuefeng near the verge of collapse. Hu Feng believes that Feng intends to prevent him from participating in the organized work of saving the nation, so he initiates a strong desire to “do something independently”. Hu Feng immediately planned to return to the joint publication of Han and his friends and the publication of the “July” Weekly Magazine following the “Shouting Weekly”. All these can be regarded as his independent cultural practice after being led by Feng Xuefeng. In a sense, the awakening of the “independent” consciousness during this period was the forerunner in the ongoing clashes with some of the Party’s cultural leaders.
