学校音乐教育首先是一种艺术的教育。艺术的本质是审美的,作为艺术领域的一个重要门类,音乐的本质同样也是审美的。因此,音乐教育从本质上说是一种审美教育,它必须突出音乐的、艺术的或审美的特点。随着新课程改革的不断深入,音乐教育出现了前所未有的变革,音乐课堂改变了以往陈旧的教学模式,以审美为核心,激发和培养学生对音乐的兴趣,更有意识地将音乐的人文内涵融入教学之中。广大基层教师努力更新观念,积极探索实践,取得了不少成绩。但与此同时也出现了一些令人担忧、值得商榷的问题。
