履带推土机是工程机械主要机种之一。目前,在大马力推土机发展的同时,用于承载能力差含水量高的松软地区的低比压推土机同样受到重视。低比压推土机比普通推土机有较低的接地压。国外常依推土机所适应的作业条件称为湿地推土机,并根据作业地面的松软程度分为湿地、超湿地、超超湿地推土机以及泥上机械等。图1是国外普通推土机和低比压推土机平均计算比压随机器重量变化的统计曲线。由于具有较小的接地压力,所以低比压推土机在含水量高或松软地区,如沼泽地、低洼地、河岸海滩、水田、林区以及雨天、雨后施工条件变坏情况下仍能正常作业。
