概述光导纤维自问世以来,就以其众多的优越性吸引着人们,如占空间小,重量轻,传输损耗低,容量大,对射频干扰和电磁干扰有极强的抗扰性,且频带宽等等。二十多年来,国外对光导纤维作了大量研究工作,光导纤维在各个领域的应用得到迅速开发,尤其在通信方面,已从实验室阶段走向实用阶段,八十年代将形成全新的光通信产业。近年来光纤的应用领域已突破了光纤通信的范畴,在工业过程检测和控制方面,也有着十分广阔的应用前景。总之,光导纤维已成为即将到来的新的技术革命的重要特征之一。
