通用电气公司研制的第二代遥感卫星陆地卫星-D,已于今年7月16日从范登堡空军基地发射,入轨后更名为陆地卫星-4,它将扩大航宇局的民用遥感业务。陆地卫星-4的轨道高度为705公里,周期98.9分。根据设计要求,陆地卫星系列的卫星将连续工作三年,其实该系列的前三颗卫星的工作均已超过了三年。陆地卫星-4携带有专题制图仪和多光谱扫描仪。两种仪器,皆由休斯公司的圣巴巴拉研究所研制。
The second generation of remote sensing satellite Landsat-D, developed by General Electric Company, was launched on July 16 this year from Vandenberg Air Base and changed its name to Landsat-4 after entering the orbit. It will expand Civil Aviation Remote Sensing Business . Landsat-4 orbit height of 705 km, a period of 98.9 points. According to the design requirements, the satellites of the Landsat series will work continuously for three years. In fact, the first three satellites of the series have been working for more than three years. Landsat -4 carries thematic plotters and multispectral scanners. Both instruments were developed by Hughes Santa Barbara Institute.
