中学思想政治课是一门综合性和实践性很强的学科。它既是对学生进行马列主义、毛泽东思想和邓小平理论知识教育的课程，又是进行思想政治教育的重要途径，故而中学思想政治课具有双重任务。所以，作为政治课教师，除了具有一定的专业理论基础外，同时还要讲究教学艺术和方法。
