To support and optimize its current strategy, the DaimlerChrysler Group has developed a Global Optimization Program for its Commercial Vehicle Division. The Global Optimization program focuses on short-, medium- and long-term goals of increasing efficiency and economies of scale. The program, comprised of four projects, is designed to optimize business models, create synergies and economies of scale, drive further sales in the global commercial vehicle market and accelerate the development of future product lines. The first project, “Optimizing Business Models,” aims to reduce the cyclical effects unique to the commercial vehicle sector to ensure the long-term profitability of the commercial vehicle segment.
