At the end of April, at the Seventh Session of the Standing Committee of the Sixth National People’s Congress of Shenzhen Municipality, the “Shenzhen Special Economic Zone Food Safety Regulation (Draft)”, known as the Basic Law on Food Safety in Shenzhen, was first submitted for consideration. As early as in 2007, Shenzhen Municipality promulgated the “Regulations on the Safety of Edible Agricultural Products in Shenzhen”. This legislation incorporates the relevant contents of the former regulations and takes advantage of the legislative power of the SAR to address the existing problems of food safety in this Municipality and establish a sound food system Long-term safety mechanism.
