Its volatile oil is used externally to treat rheumatism, and it is used internally as a wind-breaking agent. Decoction is used for post-partum use. It has been reported that its seed extract has a strong anti-platelet aggregation effect. MATERIALS AND METHODS: After extracting the dry powder of nutmeg from Soxhlet with chloroform, the solid extract was obtained by distillation under reduced pressure at 40°C. The extract was formulated into a 2.5% suspension with Tween 80 and dissolved in physiological saline for biological studies.
