△1月1日,昆(明)河(口)铁路蚂蝗堡至河口站的618次客车恢复通车。该线自1979年中断。△1月15日,铁道部在临汾召开临汾铁路分局安全十周年表彰大会。1月16至18日,全路运输安全工作会议在临汾召开。△1月,在广州举行的第二届国际专利及新技术、新产品展览会上,铁道部第十一工程局电务处吴纯同志研制的围岩塌方报警器荣获国际金奖。△2月份,全路实现安全月,这是近年来铁路安全史上取得的最好成绩。铁道部就此发出通报,慰问全路职工。△2月23日～3月7日,铁道部副部长石希玉率团参加在朝鲜举行的中、朝、蒙、苏四国铁路外贸货物运输计划会议,并代表中方签署了议定书。△国务院决定,从3月1日起铁路货运运价每吨公里平均提高2厘。
