Starting from the working principle of underwater robots, this paper systematically introduces underwater vision information acquisition process and target search strategy, and describes some specific and practical image edge detection and target recognition algorithms in detail for image processing and pattern recognition. The experiment proves the validity of the underwater robot’s operation and the reliability of the target recognition algorithm
