动物类药材中的蕲蛇、乌梢蛇和白花蛇(以下简称三种蛇)均为我国传统中药材,主要以野生品供应国内外市场。多年来。国内外市场对三种蛇的需求不但未减,而且每年还以10%～15%的速度递增。三种蛇供应出现缺口,缺口连年加大。据不完全统计,2004～2007年缺口100～300吨,2008～2009年缺口800～900吨,预测2010～2011年市场供需缺口将突破1000吨。
