词汇不仅具有字面意义还具有其内涵意义。本文以颜色词汇为例 ,对比英汉语言中由于社会背景和民族文化的不同引起的词汇内涵的异同及由此而出现的语用差异。认为在语言教学中应注重英汉语言的对比及对词汇内涵的挖掘 ,提高学生的语言使用能力。
Vocabulary not only has a literal meaning but also its meaning. This article takes the color words as an example to compare the similarities and differences of the word connotation caused by the different social backgrounds and national cultures in English and Chinese and the pragmatic differences arising therefrom. It is believed that the emphasis should be put on the comparison of English and Chinese languages and the excavation of the connotation of vocabulary in language teaching so as to improve students’ ability to use the language.
